SALEM, Ore. — Pomona-Pitzer overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Willamette University 3-2 on Friday at Sparks Field. The Bearcats led 1-0 at the break, but the Sagehens scored three second-half goals to clinch the victory.
Rory McKee scored for the Bearcats, finding the net on one of his two shots. Drew Alexander also contributed a goal, with both of his shots being on target. Brenden Pineda recorded an assist, adding to the team's offensive efforts. Goalkeeper Mikkel Jensen faced 12 shots and made one save during the match.
Willamette falls to 0-1-1 overall after the close match against Pomona-Pitzer. The Sagehens improve to 2-0-0, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.
Looking ahead, the Bearcats will host Whittier College on September 7.
