SALEM, Ore. - A formal ribbon-cutting and rededication ceremony for the recently completed renovations at the Oregon Army National Guard Corvallis
Armory will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., located at 1100 N.W. Kings Blvd, Corvallis, Oregon.Brig. Gen. Alan R. Gronewold, Adjutant General, Oregon, will preside over the event, joined by elected officials, City of Corvallis representatives, and Oregon National Guard dignitaries.
“We have been part of the Corvallis landscape for over 130 years. Our 25-year commitment is simply the next chapter in a century-long partnership,” Gronewold said.
In the 1950s, state and federal governments invested in this facility, recognizing Corvallis as vital to Oregon’s strength and readiness. To help reaffirm that ongoing commitment to Corvallis, the State of Oregon and federal partners have invested over $8.8 million to modernize the armory, ensuring it serves the 162nd and the community for the next 25 years.
A Presidential Legacy: In 2011, the Corvallis Armory hosted a rare and historic ceremony in which soldiers of 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry were awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for their heroism in the Battle of Fallujah.
